We have a wonderful, enthusiastic small team keen to get to work on making our customer's ambitions a reality.
Vali, Valentin Adrian Manea
Vali comes to us from Romania. After travelling across Europe on an adventure, he landed in Arbroath in 2015. He has held a few jobs, from farm work to car washing, but distilling has always been his passion. Vali is all about family and friends, spending lots of time with his wife, daughter and step-kids. He always has a smile on his face and enjoys a wee sing-along while working. When not at the distillery, you will find him outside, cooking on the BBQ, whatever the weather.
His favourite drinks are beer and rum, but he loves exploring new flavours whenever possible.
Shall, Alex Callon
A local lad, although if you dig deep enough, you'll find some Fife connections. Shall has had an expansive career from bar manager in his early days, to a senior role in the oil industry based in Africa. Shall is also a family man, kept in check by his wife and two daughters. If you don’t find him in the bottling room managing anything quality control, you will see him watching Arbroath Football Club, Man United or playing pool.
His favourite drinks are lager and a dry gin and tonic.
Andrea Heenan
Originally from Germany, Andrea moved to Arbroath in the late 1980s. Now very much a local, she has worked in the area, is married with her two boys, and even has a couple of tortoises. Andrea has many hobbies, including walking, watching football, and baking - Thursday is cake day! However, more recently, with the arrival of her granddaughter, she has been kept busy being a Granny.
Andrea works three days a week as the Distillery administrator. She is the friendly face behind most of our email communications.
Her favourite drinks are cider and any gin, but citrus gins are at the top. Oh! And cocktails.
Lewis Scothern
Self-confessed beer geek Lewis is a local lad, although he spent many years in Edinburgh, where he studied and worked in the alcohol industry. Master and chief, Lewis is responsible for all product development and still keeps his hand in to help out with the distilling and bottling. In his spare time he plays and watches football and spends time with his wife and kids.
His favourite drinks are IPA and whisky and all the products we make.
